Dr. Mariela Torres is passionate about empowering people to take charge of their health and live fulfilling lives. As a certified functional medicine practitioner, she is dedicated to helping women navigate the complexities of perimenopause and menopause, and helping men address age-related hormone changes. By blending integrative functional medicine with bio-identical hormone therapies, Dr. Torres uncovers the root causes of illness and helps her clients unlock their body’s full potential. She also employs an evidence-based, medically supervised approach to weight loss, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and metabolic health. Her approach is rooted in collaboration, meeting clients where they are, and fostering a therapeutic partnership to achieve the best outcomes together.

In addition to her work with women’s and men’s health, Dr. Torres is a certified immersive coach, specializing in supporting healthcare professionals. She understands the unique challenges of high-pressure environments and helps her clients thrive both personally and professionally. Whether it’s achieving ambitious goals, navigating significant life transitions, or embracing change, Dr. Torres offers high-impact programs designed for clarity and transformation. A cornerstone of her approach is Immersive Guided Meditation, a unique technique that taps into the subconscious mind to provide deep insights and practical actions for life’s challenges.

Dr. Torres grew up in New Jersey and has always been driven by curiosity and a desire to help others. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Montclair State University before earning her Doctorate of Medicine at New Jersey Medical School. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Rutgers Health-New Jersey Medical School and went on to work night shifts in a bustling inner-city hospital. Her experiences in emergency medicine deepened her interest in preventative care and integrative approaches, leading her to pursue certification in functional medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Inspired by the transformative power of coaching and meditation in her own life, Dr. Torres also became a certified Immersive Coach and Guided Meditation Facilitator through the Guided Meditation Framework.

After turning 40 and experiencing perimenopausal symptoms that progressively worsened—undermining her quality of life and overall well-being—and were not adequately addressed by her healthcare providers, Dr. Torres pursued formal training in bioidentical hormone therapy through Worldlink Medical. Her experience highlighted a significant knowledge gap in current healthcare around hormone health and wellness, fueling her commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care for women and men.

Today, Dr. Torres combines her medical expertise, coaching skills, and compassionate approach to help others live healthier, more intentional lives. Her care includes evidence-based weight-loss programs that integrate nutrition, behavior change, and, when appropriate, medication. Whether she’s guiding women through hormonal transitions and men through age-related hormone changes, or supporting professionals in achieving balance, her work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves the tools and support to thrive.
